This course is aimed at the skills and knowledge required to obtain an Australian Security licence to work as a guard in the security industry. Depending upon the type of security officer (guard) you wish to be, will determine the units you will need to study. Course Objectives:

On completion of the course participants will be able to:
  • communicate effectively and work as part of a security team
  • follow workplace safety procedures and apply first aid
  • work effectively in the security industry and respond to security risk situations
  • provide a security service to clients
  • patrol premises and use communication systems
  • monitor & control individual & crowd behaviour and
    protect the safety of persons
  • operate basic security equipment
  • protect yourself and others and control persons using
    defensive tactics
  • control the access to and exit from premises
  • screen people
