Course Description:

This course is aimed at the basic skills and knowledge leading to an Australian Security licence to work as a security officer (guard). The elective units in this course cover the specialised units required to work as a security officer / guard at airports and HR training recommend more than one elective unit be studied.

Course Objectives:

On completion of the course participants will be able to:
  • communicate effectively in the security industry
  • follow workplace safety procedures & work effectively in the security industry
  • control access to premises by screening people as sites Eg airports
  • operate specialised metal detector equipment

  • Security Officer – unarmed static guard
  • Security Officer – airport screening
